By mentioning Munda Sialkoti you have reminded me of another Munda Sialkoti in Pakistan politics and his name is Khawaja Asaf and, here is his jingoistic speech which he delivered in the 2006-2007 Budget speech at the National Assembly. Look at this Khawaja ASAF Sialkoti he is emotionally blabbing about PUNJAB that too so openly in the National Assembly session as if there is no Pakistan but only Punjab?
And the whole drama is to get rid of Pervez Musharaf, he is also praising PPP and Benazir. Himself he is with Ganja Sharif’s left ball. The only reason he is praising PPP is based on his jingoistic approach of the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Now, Khawaja Asaf is giving speeches against Asaf Zardari.

If you guys see the above video watch out for his action packed buzz words like, “Balas Fehmi; Haypa-tie-tis; Asab Taal; Desi Yen; Garantee; GerrNail, BrugayDear etc. Reportedly he is a well educated Punjabi !

It is good to see that you are covering the Pakistani domestic 20/20 cricket and the Sialkoti politics. Do you remember in the beginning, even before his appointment when he was being considered as the Captain of Pakistan team, I said, “he is a big MEESNA MUNDA SIALKOT and he will create a lot of politics in the team,” and I am not wrong. Like, some people say he is, “Jalebi ki terha seedha hai,” that MF has always used someone else shoulder to fire his (Bhurmaar) mussel load gun to stay clean but at times he has shot his own foot.

Afridi pushed for the selection of Sohail Khan. The selectors were always keen on Sohail but Malik was opposed to his selection.

Ejaz Butt has been appointed the new PCB Chairman.

The presenter, Mirza Iqbal Baig accused Malik of jingoism and said it was very strange Malik was opting for the inexperienced Mansoor Amjad over Danish Kaneria for some Test series.

What I am worried about is this mentality of promoting people from your hometowns and villages. Where does the buck stop? A person who is biased enough to promote someone from his hometown can just as easily promote someone from his province or cultural background over another.

If jingoism and nepotism is practised so openly why do people even talk about merit based selection? In such a case isn’t it better to give powers to the Selection Committee to decide who should play? Is there a problem with Pakistani psyche that such jingoism and nepotism is being allowed to flourish?

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik is not in favour of Shahid Afridi’s automatic selection on the Pakistan team for the four-nation twenty20 event starting in Canada from October 10.

A well-placed source in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee confirmed to ‘The News’ that when the selectors took up the selection matter with Shoaib on Sunday, he spoke against Afridi’s selection on the team for the four-nation event.

“Afridi should first prove his utility as his recent international record was not favouring his automatic selection on the team. Unless and until he performs better than the other top contenders who are working hard for a place on the team, he should not be considered or selected on the team,” Shoaib is said to have told the selectors. Afridi’s recent record in the shortest version of the game was not encouraging. He even failed to perform with the bat in the inaugural twenty20 World Cup held in South Africa last year.
