This Aamir Sohail’s impersonation is a classic.
In video no 7, you see Wasim telling Simi Garewal that “I am so confident in my bowling that I don’t care which batsman is standing in front of me.”
Sohail Tanvir said exactly the same thing to that stupid woman Farah in that interview. Javed A Khan’s judgement and intuition must be praised for his pointing out that Sohail is following Wasim blindly.
khansahab
thanks for the video’s I haven’t seen anyone of them before. I wish there were faces to the first video instead of words only where Aamir was blabbering (whoever mimicked him did a bad job, I can do better) anyways its good.
About Wasim Akram’s interview with Simi Gharewal, I am sure this Paindoo Tanvir must have watched it, otherwise he wouldn’t have blabbed it in those exact words. He already thinks that he is the next Wasim Akram, yes he could be because both are equally paindoo. Although Pawan has used the word “uncouth” for him which is very apt when you are describing him in English, but in his own mother tongue what I have said suits him more.
That kid Amer Ali or whoever got 3 wickets in 4 balls in that under-19 match seems to be very promising and I think Wasim Akram will sponsor him too. And I won’t blame Wasim because, he has acquired this tendency from his mentor Imran Khan, and this is the only way to be in the limelight by saying: “I told you that kid is good.” Now a days Imran is busy in politics otherwise he used to blab something or the other only to ruin the youngsters like he did in case of Sami and Younus Khan. Thank God, Younus has got over with that hang over of Imran’s blessings and he is in form these days and I hope he carries this form to the CT next month.
Waqqa is a character, I liked his bowling, in fact Wasims too but, as commentators both are lousy. I think most of Waqar’s victims were clean bowled, I wonder if there is any stats on this to prove my point. Perhaps he has the highest ratio of clean bowled.
Javed A Khan
I’ve gathered some further evidence as to Wasim’s incompetent commentary. Today I was watching this video where he called Venkatesh Prasad, “Venkapathy Prasad”. He was confusing Prasad with Venkapathy Raju. When Ravi Shastri identified this error Wasim did not apologise or correct himself; he just said, “Ok, then *Prasad*!”
I saw another video where Wasim gave another demonstration of his idiocy. Ntini bowled a devastating bouncer to Tendulkar which Tendulkar could not play. He ducked and the ball hit his helmet and went to square leg. I don’t know what Wasim wanted to say but this is what he said,
“Well no batsman could play that, what a snorter…..no batsman can play such a ball. That is why Tendulkar could not play…………….but I still think Tendulkar played that very well, he played that to square leg………”
What I was wondering and what every other commentator on that video page was wondering, is that Tendulkar did not actually play that shot- he didn’t offer a stroke and he didn’t know where the ball was going. Explaining it in words like these doesn’t carry the same effect. I will find that video link for you
khansahab
I know what you mean by that, I have heard older generation people objecting to this new phrase where the batsman misses a good ball or he is beaten by the bowler, the commentators say, “he played that shot very badly.” Or, when he leaves the ball alone, they say, “he played it well.” Although the ball had not touched the bat, it is still considered as a shot. One of my uncles told me that, during his time, if you hit the ball and if it doesn’t connect wel,l then they used to say, he played that shot very bad. In case, when he missed the ball they used to say he was beaten by the pace or the swing/spin. So, these days leaving a ball by ducking under it is also considered as “playing well,” meaning you didn’t get out.
As regards Wasim he is a total uncouth like Tanvir and Waqar. He lived in England for so long played for Lancashire and a couple of other counties and like most Pakistanis he believes that his English is very good. Same is the case with almost all the other Pakistani players except for a few who studied there like Imran, Majid and may be a few more I am not aware of them. And among those who did not study there Ramiz is one of them and his English is good. The rest are total Ghhonchooz.
Its not just their English, even when they talk in Urdu they make such bloopers that you can’t stop laughing. I heard Wasim speaking in Urdu during a break and he was saying, “Pakistani team ko chahiyeh kay wo jaldi jaldi RUNZAINE banai……. warna wo pressure kay dabao may ajaingay.” Runzaine …. for him Runs is singular and Runzaine is plural…. and pressure ka dabao? LOL………. Kurr lo gull.
Javed A Khan
The reason why we know Sohail is on the path of self destruction is because, when Wasim made that statement to Simi he had been playing cricket for over a decade and was already considered a legend. Whereas Sohail has just been in the picture for a year and it is extremely arrogant and unwise of him to say that. The problem is most of Pakistan’s population is uncouth like Sohail Tanvir. If he saw more people criticising him like we do then he would feel more inclined to mend his ways. That would not just be better for the country and better for cricket all over, it would be better for Sohail himself.
I think you agree with me that Nadia Khan demonstrates some traits of paindooism frequently. I saw her interview with Misbah ul Haq. She kept pestering Misbah to be free, to relax, to laugh and be carefree and to go “balle balle!” whereas Misbah is a quiet person. He is more educated than the average Pakistani and education teaches you that empty vessels make the most noise. Educated people write a lot to educate others and think a lot about issues which helps them become more astute. Whereas uncouth people like Nadia just want to blab and go “balle balle.” People who speak the most and speak the loudest are the ones whose minds are empty. You often see pretty girls/women especially in our culture talk too much, try and be very confident and bold. That is because the way they look is praised so much that they think they are superior beings and have some Godgifted duty to talk and make themselves noticed. Whereas the truth is that, “Empty vessels make the most noise”.
This comment is dedicated to Javed A Khan but I hope everyone will enjoy this. We all know about Bushisms, which are the dumb things the American President says every now and then. But has anyone heard about Younasisms? A Younasism occurs when Waqar Younis says something odd during commentary. Following are famous Younasisms:
1) Waqar when praising Dhoni’s calm demeanour: “Dhoni has got a beautiful head on his shoulders…..”
“Danish gave an extra air to the ball”
2) When praising Sehwag’s attacking batting: The Virender Sehwag is really on the rampage tonight.
3) When praising some bowler for field placing: “Oh…..he is a smart bowler! He has got A Protection there.
4) When Aamir Sohail praised Ishant Sharma saying, “Waqar, I think the reason that Ashant is getting all that extra bounce is that he is a big lanky lad”……….this is what Waqqa had to say………. “Another reason could be that he’s also very tall……………..”
5) When praising Salman Butt, “All Salman did was just put bat on ball and timing was perfect. Beautiful play…….”
6) “Trescothick makes a room outside off stump”
7) “definately a nick there, i heard it in my ear”
9) Jayasuria likes to have a room, but Najaf not giving him a room
10) “Thats 200 wickets for danish kaneria. Hez the 6th Pakistani fast bowler to acheive this”
11) ‘What a catch…thats an absolutely catch’
12) “Went on the backfoot and found a beautiful gap between cover and point”
13) When the commentator Greg Blewett said, “That’s an ordinary effort by Razzaq” (when Razzaq misfielded) this is what Waqqa had to say, “…………..oo that’s worse than ordinary, that’s…………..ordinary effort
14) ‘And a Pakistan is 181 for.. all out.
15) “Beautifully Shot”
Khansaab.

Guys, please watch the newly added videos and give your opinions…………
Guys this an excellent new addition added to the site. Wonderful videos have been uploaded . I like this new feature and hope it goes well.
Abdul
Thanks for the praise…..
Anwar ali is certainly a bowler of some calibure and has got a lethal perfect inswinger almost as curved as a bananna. I certainly do rate Wasim akram and great to see his brilliance with the ball and along with the consistency of mcgrath would rate them 2 as the greatest bowlers of all time.
My favourite video uploaded has to be the Anwar Ali show as well as the world cup video number 17 which describes the history of pakistan cricket in world cups and summarises how unpredictable the side can be.
I also recommend and request the ls managers to upload the following videos.
cricket bowled.bowled bowled.
Ashes 05 1st video
Dil dil pakistan cricket
shane warne great dismissals and more vidoes about the brilliant spinner.
As well as a few about some unpredictible Ajintha Mendis
Sami was an outstanding talent who was wasted. Some of it is his own doing but I also feel he was not supported properly by the team management.
When he did appear to regain form in 2007, Akmal dropped a lot of catches off his bowling which resulted in his permanent ouster from the team.
The latest video updated on this page is another example of Aamir Sohail’s disgraceful character. What a disappointing match this was for Pakistanis. After this match Pakistanis never saw India vs Pakistan in the same way and somehow the Pakistan team started considering itself as vulnerable against the Indian team. We always talk about “ifs and butts” but if Sohail had kept his cool and not succumbed to natural tendencies of paindooism, Pakistan would have won this match.
I recall in Pakistan people started suffering from depressive illnesses after this match. Many people broke their TV’s in frustration as soon as Pakistan lost.
yes, the aamir sohail impersonation is absolutely hilarious. its weird how his voice comes across as coarse or funny because im sure he doesnt speak like this in real life (or not when I spoke to him a couple of times). Still better than Sikander Bakht I’m sure who spent 3 hours trying to pronounce Zimbabwean names when they toured Pakistan in January.
As for Anwar Ali, the only time he displayed the banana-like inswing was in that U-15 final. I’ve seen him plenty of times after that (always with a red ball) and he has failed miserably to replicate his achievements. Maybe it were the conditions in the final as opposed to scorching pakistani afternoons that he has found himself in after that, but he’s not worth all the hype.
Dear LS bloggers
We welcome our newest blogger, Faras Ghani, to LS. Mr Ghani is an accomplished journalist who has written for many renowned organisations such as Cricinfo, Asian Woman and Manchester Evening News.
We hope Faras Ghani enjoys blogging on LS as much as we will enjoy being enlightened with his well informed and analytical input!
Faras,
Hope you don’t mind me asking- I am just curious to know how you have met so many cricketers? Is it because you are a journalist and have “clearance” to meet and interview cricketers, or do you have “VIP status” that enables you to meet these famous personalities?
thanks.
well, working for various publications – and the fact that all these cricketers and celebs are media hungry – you do get to meet and talk to anyone under the sun. It was part of my job at Cricinfo – and other publications including Dawn and Star – that I get interviews across and even on tours, you get to meet random officials and cricketers during training or time off etc.
So yeah, it was fun and very interesting to see and talk to them away from the cricket pitch and on matters other than cricket. With surprising outcome at times…
I am really sorry for hurting anyone’s sentiments about Musharraf by posting these videos which are a must-see. I am aware of the fact that cricket videos were meant to be posted on this page and I apologise to fellow managers for not consulting them; however I believe they will understand.
Please accept whatever is being said in these videos as true, regardless of whichever part of Pakistan you are from. Think about your children and think about the future of Pakistan and consider whether you want intellectuals and refined people to rule Pakistan or Choudharys and Dakoos.
I know Syed Mustafa Kamal talks like a paindoo and “Bhaiyya” but what he is saying about the development work is true.
Please see latest video of Wasi Zafar
Musharraf is still the Hero of educated and sane Pakistanis, I agree. He did lot of bad things, but they overshadowed his good work.
Asharbhai
Welcome to LS.
I said in an earlier comment that man is not perfect and only God is. Musharraf may have made some blunders but he is still the best leader the country could have. For that reason we have to support him and make a distinction between him and people like Zardari and Nawaz Sharif.
Please see latest video of Wasim Akram dancing.
On Wasim Akram dancing
Ultimately the Khusraa is showing his real worth. Paisa phaiko tamasha dekho, not only he will dance but he can do the job of a pimp and sell his own for money. Such people are known as PMC’s (Patriotic Madxx ….. Chxxx’s)
I just saw the video of Law Minister Wasi Zafar
I have to say, just one thing, Wasi Zafar was the Minister of Law, in Mr. Musharraf’s Government.
So the ultimate credit is also, somewhat, going to Mr. Musharraf in selecting and having such A$$holes around him. Another, such joker was the Information Minister Mr. Durrani and on top of all this crap was purely imported corrupt Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. This is besides the ML-Q guys, the Chaudries, Sheikh Rasheed and the party.
The following old saying suits Mr. Musharraf very well.
“A man is known by the company his ‘keeps’”
Munir sahab
What did you think about the video where the man is abusing Sheikh Rasheed in Punjabi?
Khan Sahab …
Yes I saw that video too and I liked whatever I could understand of it
The Baba was speaking in Pukki Punjabi, and so I did not grasp the whole meaning, but I understood some of it and I will agree with Baba that Sheikh Rasheed is a “PairnChoud”
As you must be knowing that Sheikh Rasheed is still not married (which is not taken as normal in our society), so once on a live TV interview the compare asked him why is he not married? You know what he said, well he said, “when I can get milk from bazaar, why should I have a hassle of keeping a cow at home”. This will tell you the type of mentality our ministers/ politicians possess.
This guy Sheikh Rasheed was earlier with Nawaz “Gunga’ Sharif and they both used each others, and then he moved with Pervaiz Musharraf and they both used each other royally good. This proves the following equation:
If,
Sheikh Rasheed is (SR)
Nawaz Sharif is (NS)
and Pervaiz Musharraf is (PM)
Then it will be as:
SR + NS = Bad Politicians
SR + PM = Bad Politicians
So it proves that :
SR = NS = PM = VERY BAD POLITICIANS
Mmmmmmm Imran Khan features above
